Quick Tip/Update/*NEW PROJECT (POTENTIAL VIDEO)

We'll I went garage sale-ing this past weekend. Each year our community has a huge neighborhood organized garage sale. I picked up a few things which I plan on creating a video on. One of them is an old antique jewelery box which I was gonna make a video showing how I restored it and revamped it to my liking, but then my dad started ripping the insides out!! So, well see how that goes, maybe I'll do a video on how to relign the boxes. It would be a good thing to know if you guys come across any old jewelry boxes you might like but the insides might not be to your liking.

QUICK TIP: If your dad likes to do wood crafts, etc. DO NOT ASK HIM FOR HIS IDEAS ON HOWTO REMOVE THE INSIDES TO YOUR JEWELRY BOXES IF YOU PLAN ON MAKING A VIDEO LOL.

Other than that, summer school is winding down with only one more week left! So I promise I'll be updating and uploading much more. Lets see if I can get atleast one hundred subbies by the time school starts (:

Aloha my lovelies!

Favorite Summer Scents

I figure I would do a quick post before I hit the sheets, so I hope you guys enjoy this(:

This summer I find that I'm constantly reaching for these two scents, and I can honestly say, you'd be impressed at how inexpensive they are.
I'll get around to doing a perfume haul/blog, but I have perfumes that range from Chanel to Dior to Giorgio Armani, to Victoria Secrets, to the CVS knock offs of B&B. My collection is quite large, and honestly, there is about $5000 invested in it. (Not that much when you think of how much one bottle of perfume can cost)

The two that I've been reaching for the most this summer/spring are both from Bath and Body Works. Now, I'm quite aware of all the parabens and sulfates however I just absolutely love these two scents.

The first is Orange Sapphire. I've been absolutely loving this body cream,
I got it for $3, it originally retails at $12, but they're on a clearance sale at B&B right now, so I think the scent is being discontinued :(( I must go back IMMEDIATELY and get back ups of the perfume (the perfume is a toilette) and the body cream.
It's very citrusy, which I absolutely adore. It smells like fresh oranges with a hint of musk to it. I would say this is a very mature fruity smell. It's in no way sweet in my opinion, but it smells like a freshly cut ripe orange with a hint of musk that just ties it all together.

I love love love using this right after I shower and the first thing in the morning when I wake up. It's such a refreshing scent and I can't help but think of sunshine and beaches and fun!

The second scent I've been reaching for is also from B&B, I think it's a newer scent to their collection but it's called Forever Sunshine. This is another "mature fruity scent" in my opinion. I was actually in B&B with a friend of mind a few months ago and she spotted it. I fell in love with the scent right away.
I'm not too sure how to describe this scent, but it reminds me of my childhood and I feel like it just warms me up on the inside (if that even makes sense, lol).

I got the travel sized containers because I travel a lot and because I have such a huge collection of perfumes, the last thing I needed was another full sized perfume bottle. I take this with me on trips home (Hawaii) and when I'm at school in Cali I think this is the perfect day scent.

It might not seem like I used a lot, but trust me, THAT is a lot of product that I used so far.
I never like to wear the same scent more than once a week, but I always reach for these two.
I'm not too sure how much this cost, I know for the full sized stuff its the standard price, but these are travel sized and I brought these on the 3 for $5 sale. (I'm a sucker for cute travel things)

Honestly, I don't think I'll be able to live without the B&B Orange Sapphire scent in my life. I'm just seriously that in love with it. I'm planning a trip down to the CCO/Outlets this weekend and I hope I can pick up a few more of those.

I hope you guys are having a fabulous summer, Enjoy<3

Amazon Brush Rolls

I don't know about other people, but I tend to go through phases where I want want want brushes. I'm especially a sucker for brush rolls because I travel a lot and the convenience of throwing a few brushes in a brush roll is great, especially for those days when you make last minute plans and have to run out the door.

This particular brush roll....I don't recommend. I've ordered the Shany Cosmetics Brush roll off of Amazon, I would absolutely recommend that one ONLY for the face brushes.

Lets get into this review (:

This is what the brush roll looks like all rolled up. I can actually say I was impressed that it didn't have that harsh chemical smell that most brush rolls have when they first arrive in the mail. This one is simple, and quite small, not so small that I would consider them a travel size set, but definetely smaller than I'm used to. I would say size wise, it's a little bit smaller than the Sigma Brush Rolls, maybe by a few centimeters.

The brush roll is made out of fake leather*
These brushes are made our of natural goat hair (face brushes)
and synthetic hair (all other brushes, including fan brush)
$11.95 (Though I brought mine for $13)
Click this link if you are interested in checking it out.

Eye brow comb, sponge brush, spooli, lip brush, angled eye brush

These are all the brushes that come in the roll, and honestly, I was quite disappointed, but that's only to be expected. It didn't really surprise me that I didn't care for these brushes. At $11.95 for the entire set, I wasn't expecting much.

These brushes are very small, and I tend to use them for smudging eye shadow into my lower lash line, or as an inner corner high light. For anything other than that, there is no use to these brushes because they are so small.

The face brushes aren't dense enough to be used to apply things. I would only recommend using these brushes if you are using a product that is crazy pigmented like Nars Blushes. These brushes won't pick up as much product, but you will need to go in with another brush to blend out the powders because I find that these will leave your powders with a harsh line (not attractive -__-)

So- overall I give this product a 2.
I don't completely hate it, I just think if you are someone who invest in your makeup and/or are a make up junkie or have high expectations of products, don't waste your money here.
This is, however, perfect for beginners. And even as a gift. If you have to gift something to someone you don't really care for or even a young girl who's starting to explore makeup, this is the perfect thing!

NYX HD Foundation: 07 Warm Sand, 08 California Tan

NYX has brought out an HD line over the past two years that haven't really gotten much review over. For me, NYX is a love hate relationship because a lot of there products tend to be a hit or miss. I love there jumbo pencils (both eyes and lips), lipsticks, blushes, HD primer, BUT there eye shadows are quite chalky with not a lot of pay out. Luckily for me its a standard to prime and base my lids.

For these particular foundations I had to search high and low for swatches. Hopefully some of you will find this helpful.

Enough rambling, here are the two foundation shades I picked up.

Nyx HD Foundation in 07 Warm Sand

Nyx HD Foundation in 08 California Tan

This how they come packaged. The box is pretty standard in my opinion. As you can see on the box they advertise Paraben Free, but they're actually not...I'll save that for another blog post. The bottle is made of plastic so if you are a makeup artist or traveling with this, do not fear! Unlike MAKE UP FOREVER's bottles which I've had brake on me while traveling, this will not. They're also a tad bit skinnier than the MAKE UP FOREVER's bottles just as a reference, but the same height. As you will see each comes with a pump, and from my experience with foundations, as convenient as a pump is, they tend to be very messy. I haven't had that problem with these foundations yet. Cross your fingers and hope it stays that way.

Here are swatches of the two, on the left is 07 Warm Sand and on the right is 08 California Tan.
Each bead is one full pump. Now I range between an NC 40-NC42/43. But my sister who is an NC30-35 can also use the 07 Warm Sand and it blends in beautifully with her skin, as well as mines. California Tan is just too red.

&blended out:

So- these are my overall opinions on this foundation.

The finish in my opinion is very Satin, I find that if I set this with powder it tends to cake up.
I have combination skin so my T zone and cheek bones are very oily, while the rest of my face is very dry.
It blends out flawlessly and photographs amazing.
For people who hate the Revlon Photo Ready Foundation, try this on for size!
It's comparable to MAKEUP FOREVER, but in my opinion, the MAKE UP FOREVER one is a better quality, with a wider range of shade. Woman of color, I'm sorry but if you are darker than an NW45, there are no shades for you in this line. The darkest is 08 California Tan.

I love love love this foundation, and I rate it 4 stars, being that they lied when they said paraben free.

Fun Summer Nail Polish Combo

This past month I swear the only thing I've had on my finger nails was this polish. Its a blue glitter nail polish from Sinful Colors called Hottie and I absolutely love it. Perfect for summer time (and all year round in my opinion) I think if you are in to glitter nail polishes this is a must have. It's not extremely chunky but more of a normal glitter texture. The actual polish is a light baby blue, so its not this clear polish with blue glitter crap. On its own its very sheer and I could not get a good swatch of it on its own.

[Again, click on the picture to enlarge it]

This combination on my nails has been an absolute favorite for the month on June. It's Sally Hansens Hard as Nails Xtreme Nail Polish in Lovely Lilac with a sheer layer of Sinful Colors Hottie. Don't you think it just kicks up the pastel lavender?

This nail polish has been in my collection for a while and I decided to use it because it was such a gorgeous glitter. Another major plus to this polish -- its not too hard to get off!!

For $2.99 I think this is worth it. It CAN go on streaky however if you layer it on, use sheer coats to prevent that. And a quick tip, a thick top coat might take a littler longer to dry BUT it can make ANY streaky polish look streak free and evenly coated.
